State Bound
It started Wednesday. I started to get nervous for state wrestling, and I started packing. Man, every time I put something in my bag,I was getting more freaked out. I could not sleep that night, so I put some Doterra oils on my head and neck. I finally got to sleep around 10:00 a clock. I then woke up, finished packing and went to school. I got all me classes done and went to lunch and ate nothing. then we got on the bus and headed to Holt Arena. I was so scared that i couldn't hold still. we get up there to practice, and i was nervous it was so big when I walked in, but I got used to it fast. I kind of just did my thing and got warmed up.
After that, we headed to the hotel the we were staying in, and it was awesome. We had my Xbox, and we played it. It was so much fun. We stayed up until ten. Don't tell my parents. Then we went to bed, and we got up at six in the morning. We went to the Holt Arena and went to weigh in. I almost didn't make weight, and that scared me. Then I got my wrestling stuff on and started to loosen up my muscles I started to run around the mats to warm up.
I started blocking everybody out except for my coaches. I was ready, but a little nervous at the same time. When it was my turn, I got less nervous and I was totally ready. So we got out there, and this kid was bigger than me. It didn't scare me. I wrestle kids bigger than me all the time, and it was a cool match.
It started with a handshake. The ref blew the whistle and it began. We danced around, and then he shot, and I sprawled. He got around me and got me on my back. I fought, then I braced and rolled him. If I swept that kid's head, I would have won; I was too slow. Time was up, so we started again. I was on bottom, and I tried to get up, but he brought me down again. He got me on my back, and he pinned me, but I did fight. I was proud of myself and mad at the same time.
I went to relax. I had to buy lunch. I didn't have to wrestle, and man, did I smell the food. The steam from the shirt area, where they made the state champion shirts, smelled delicious. It was so delicious. I got cold, so I went and warmed up.
While I was warming up, Coach came up to me and said, "You don't have to wrestle until 5:30."
I said, "Ok, Coach. You should have said that to me earlier."
The coach just laughed. I went to the stands where my family was. My team was there, too. We talked and teased; it was fun. I had a little lunch and took a nap, and then I went to go get warmed up because it was getting close to time to compete. I was getting really nervous, because if I lost this one, I was done. I got pumped and went out ready.
We got out there and we started with a handshake. We started to wrestle. We tied up; he ankle picked me, and he took me down. My nose started to bleed, and we were out of the ring. He pinned me. I was so mad; I wanted to punch the ref in the face, but I didn't. I just walked off mad. I had to calm down. I was so mad.
The thing I learned was how to wrestle and how fun the experience at state was.
